How to Trade Event Contracts
on Webull
Webull integrates Kalshi's event contract orderbooks directly into its brokerage platform. You trade economic event contracts (Fed rate decisions, CPI, GDP) inside the same app as your stocks and ETFs. Fee: $0.02 per contract. Available to existing Webull users with no extra account setup.
What you need to know before you start
Fed, CPI, GDP, and macro markets
Webull's event contract selection is primarily economic: Fed rate decisions, CPI prints, GDP estimates, Treasury yields. A narrower selection than Kalshi direct, but the markets most relevant to equity traders.
Same orderbooks, limited catalog
Your orders route through Kalshi's DCM. The prices and liquidity are identical to Kalshi direct, but Webull exposes roughly 10–20% of Kalshi's total market catalog. If you need broader coverage, open a Kalshi account directly.
Trade inside your existing brokerage
If you have a Webull brokerage account, you already have access. No separate KYC application, no separate funding source. Use your existing Webull cash balance.
Unified tax reporting
Webull issues one 1099 covering stocks, options, and event contracts. Simpler than maintaining separate accounts on multiple platforms.
How to start trading event contracts on Webull
- 1 Download the Webull app or open the desktop platformWebull event contracts are available on iOS, Android, and the Webull desktop platform. If you already have a Webull account, update to the latest version. Event contract access was added to Webull in 2024 via their Kalshi integration for economic markets.
- 2 Create or log into your Webull accountNew users: create a Webull account at webull.com. You'll need your SSN, date of birth, and government ID for standard brokerage KYC. Existing Webull users already have access to event contracts from within their brokerage account: no separate application needed.
- 3 Fund your accountAdd funds via ACH bank transfer or wire. ACH funds typically settle within 1–3 business days. Webull may offer instant buying power of up to $1,000 on ACH deposits. You can also use existing cash balance from your Webull brokerage or IRA account.
- 4 Navigate to Event ContractsIn the Webull app, look for "Event Contracts" in the main navigation menu. On desktop, it appears in the left sidebar under "Products." Webull's event contract section is integrated with their existing market data interface: you'll see charts and pricing tools alongside the contract details.
- 5 Browse available contractsWebull's event contracts are powered by Kalshi and cover economic categories: Fed rate decisions, inflation (CPI), GDP, and similar macroeconomic outcomes. Note: Webull offers a limited subset of Kalshi's total market catalog: primarily economics. Sports contracts may not be available depending on your state.
- 6 Analyze and place your orderSelect a contract, review the YES/NO prices and resolution date. Enter your position size and choose limit or market order type. Webull's fee is $0.02 per contract (platform fee + exchange fee). Confirm and submit. The order routes through Kalshi's orderbooks.
- 7 Track positions in your portfolioEvent contract positions appear in your Webull portfolio alongside stocks and ETFs. You can view P&L, close positions early, or let them run to resolution. Winning contracts pay $1.00 per contract at resolution; losing contracts pay $0.
- 8 Tax reportingWebull includes event contract activity in your year-end 1099 tax document, which covers your stocks, options, and event contracts in one form. Net event contract profits are ordinary income. Download your 1099 from the Webull app in February of the following year.
Webull vs Kalshi direct: which should you use?
Use Webull if you're already there; use Kalshi for breadth
- You already trade stocks on Webull and want everything in one account
- You only care about economics markets (Fed, CPI, GDP)
- You prefer Webull's charting interface to Kalshi's native UI
- You want unified 1099 reporting across equities and event contracts
- You want the full catalog: sports, politics, economics, crypto, weather
- You want Kalshi's native mobile app experience
- You want access to new markets as they launch (Webull has a lag)
- You want to see the full orderbook depth and position limits
The fees are identical ($0.02/contract) because Webull passes through Kalshi's exchange fee. There's no cost penalty for using either. The question is purely about workflow and market access breadth.
What event contracts does Webull offer?

Quarterly GDP advance estimates. Above/below consensus thresholds.
Non-farm payrolls above/below consensus. Unemployment rate markets.
S&P 500 and Nasdaq end-of-quarter level markets (available on Kalshi via Webull).
⚠ Sports and entertainment event contracts may not be available on Webull. For full coverage, use Kalshi or Robinhood.
