Polymarket Partners With Genius Sports for Live Streaming, Official Settlement Data, and Integrity Monitoring

Polymarket has struck a partnership with Genius Sports — the official data and streaming provider for the NFL, NCAA, Serie A, and dozens of other leagues — giving Polymarket's CFTC-regulated US platform exclusive live streaming rights, official event data for contract settlement, and access to Genius Sports' league integrity information-sharing infrastructure. The deal makes Polymarket the first CFTC-regulated prediction market to integrate live sports streaming directly alongside real-time event contracts, and follows recent congressional and international scrutiny of prediction market integrity practices.

Polymarket has agreed a partnership with Genius Sports, the official real-time sports data and streaming provider whose client list includes the NFL, NCAA, and multiple top European leagues, for Polymarket's CFTC-regulated US prediction market platform. The agreement has three components: exclusive streaming rights and league IP across selected competitions — including Serie A, of which Genius Sports holds exclusive US streaming rights — giving Polymarket US users access to live match coverage alongside related real-time event contracts; official event data used to determine the outcome and settlement of covered sports contracts, aligning Polymarket's settlement standard with the same verified data supplied to professional leagues and sportsbooks; and access to Genius Sports' digital marketing infrastructure through its Legend media properties. Polymarket will also participate in Genius Sports' integrity information-sharing processes, giving leagues and governing bodies direct visibility into related market activity.

The live streaming integration is the most commercially novel element. Polymarket becomes the first CFTC-regulated prediction market platform to pair live sports coverage with real-time event contracts in the same user interface — a format that traditional sportsbooks have not been able to offer at scale due to streaming licensing constraints. A user can watch a Serie A match on Polymarket's US platform and simultaneously trade contracts on match result, goal scorer, or other outcomes without switching applications. The integration changes what prediction markets are as a product: less a standalone trading terminal, more a watch-and-trade entertainment platform. That framing is strategically significant at a time when the sector is fighting court battles in eleven states over whether its products are financial instruments or sports bets — a live streaming layer makes the entertainment argument harder to dismiss.

The official settlement data component directly addresses one of the most persistent criticisms of prediction markets relative to licensed sportsbooks. When Polymarket's sports event contracts now settle, they do so using the same verified data feed that Genius Sports supplies to the NFL, the leagues, and the regulated sportsbook industry. That is a material compliance upgrade: it removes the possibility of a market resolving on incorrect or disputed data, and it creates an auditable data chain that regulators can verify. The integrity information-sharing provision goes further still. Less than two weeks ago, the Group of Copenhagen flagged Polymarket by name in its World Cup report — a $4.8 million Spain-not-to-win position and the Balogun market opened before FIFA publicly confirmed his suspension was lifted. Joining Genius Sports' integrity network, which gives leagues real-time visibility into market activity and enables coordinated responses to irregular trading patterns, is a direct answer to that scrutiny and to the congressional concerns raised at the House Agriculture Committee hearing on July 22.

Genius Sports is a UK-founded company, NYSE-listed, with official data rights covering more than 750 sports organizations globally. Its data feeds underpin settlement infrastructure for DraftKings, FanDuel, and most regulated US sportsbooks. The Polymarket partnership is the first time Genius has formally extended its official data and integrity services to a CFTC-regulated prediction market — a category distinction it did not previously need to make. For Polymarket, the deal provides a competitive differentiation from Kalshi, which has emphasized professional trading tools and institutional market depth, by moving toward an entertainment-first product experience where the live content itself is the acquisition and retention mechanism. For the sector's regulatory debates, a prediction market platform with official league data, league streaming rights, and a formal integrity information-sharing arrangement with those same leagues looks structurally much more like a licensed sportsbook than the unregulated crypto platforms the CFTC was originally positioning prediction markets against.

Kalshi and Polymarket Are Now Taking Bets on Clinical Trials. Researchers Say That Is a Structural Integrity Problem.

Kalshi and Polymarket have begun allowing users to bet on the outcomes of clinical drug trials and FDA approval decisions. Researchers running those trials say the markets create direct financial incentives for people with access to trial data — pharmacists, coordinators, investigators — to tamper with results. Kalshi argues the markets are no different from stock market short sellers and will provide valuable information about drug development. Critics call the whole thing 'ghastly.' The debate represents the most ethically serious challenge prediction markets have faced.
