How to Withdraw
from Polymarket
Polymarket QCEX (the US-licensed version) offers two withdrawal options: fiat back to your bank via ACH (3–5 business days), or USDC directly to a crypto wallet (near-instant). The main catch is the same as Kalshi: capital committed to open positions is locked until those positions resolve. This guide walks you through the full process.
How to withdraw from Polymarket
- 1 Log in to Polymarket
Go to polymarket.com or the Polymarket mobile app. Sign in with your account. Navigate to your Portfolio: you'll see your total balance, open positions, and available balance.
- 2 Click "Withdraw"
From the Portfolio page, click the "Withdraw" button. On mobile, tap the wallet icon or the Portfolio tab and look for Withdraw. You'll see options for bank withdrawal (fiat) and USDC crypto withdrawal.
- 3 Choose your method
Bank withdrawal (ACH): select your linked bank account. This converts USDC to USD and sends it via ACH. USDC crypto withdrawal: enter your wallet address on the Base network. Double-check the address: transactions on Base are irreversible.
- 4 Enter the withdrawal amount
Type the amount. Must be ≤ your available balance. Available balance = total balance minus USDC in open (unresolved) positions. If your available balance is lower than expected, you have open positions locking capital: see the section below.
- 5 Confirm and submit
Review the amount, destination, and any conversion or withdrawal fees. Click Confirm. You'll receive a confirmation email. The withdrawal is now in process.
- 6 Wait for delivery
Bank (ACH): 3–5 business days. Funds arrive in your linked bank account. USDC to wallet: typically under 1 minute on the Base network. Check your bank or wallet after the expected window. Contact Polymarket support if funds don't arrive within 7 business days.
Why your available balance is less than your total
Open positions lock USDC until the market resolves. If you've bought shares in a market that hasn't settled yet, that USDC is committed to the contract and unavailable for withdrawal. This is not a bug: it's how prediction markets work.
Hold your open positions until the market resolves. Once resolved, your USDC (winnings or remaining balance) becomes available. Best if you believe your positions have value.
Go to Portfolio → open each position → click Sell. This closes your position at the current market price, returning USDC to your available balance instantly. You may sell at a profit or loss depending on current prices.
Withdrawal methods, fees and timing
Common withdrawal questions
How long does a Polymarket withdrawal take?+
Bank (ACH) withdrawals: 3–5 business days. USDC to crypto wallet (Base): typically under 1 minute. Weekends and US bank holidays extend ACH processing time.
Why can't I withdraw my full Polymarket balance?+
Capital in open (unresolved) positions is locked as collateral for those contracts and cannot be withdrawn. Your available withdrawal balance = total balance minus locked position capital. Sell your positions or wait for them to resolve to unlock those funds.
Is there a withdrawal fee on Polymarket?+
No fee for ACH bank withdrawals. USDC wallet withdrawals incur minimal Base network gas fees (~$0.01 or less). No Polymarket-imposed withdrawal fee for standard methods as of May 2026.
Does withdrawing from Polymarket trigger taxes?+
No: withdrawals are not taxable events. Tax is owed on your net profit for the year, regardless of whether you withdraw or leave funds in the platform. Polymarket issues tax documentation for qualifying US users.
Can I withdraw to a different bank than I deposited from?+
Yes, if you have that bank account linked in your Polymarket QCEX account. Navigate to Settings → Payment methods to add or change your linked bank account.
